An Irish icon - not just for St Patrick's Day
This illustration evokes the spirit of Ireland, featuring its most famous botanical - the shamrock. This actually refers to multiple plant species, all featuring three leaves. Perfect for St. Patrick's Day or whenever the situation calls for something Irish.
Legend has it that Saint Patrick - the patron saint of Ireland - used a shamrock to explain the holy trinity to the druids. The three leaves of a shamrock are also said to stand for faith, hope and love. A fourth leaf is just a genetic mutation, but it's considered lucky by some.
